Luminescence is a collaborative photo project featuring 8 incredible trans models who braved the late-October chill bare-skinned for the sake of community and creation.
As darkness enshrouds our political landscape in the US, and the rights of minority groups are being stripped away, many of us are living in fear. The rights of transgender people have been particularly threatened, with lies and fear-mongering vilifying the trans community.
During this time, it is especially important to showcase real trans people and the power that comes from honoring your most authentic self. Trans people are so much more than their struggle for justice. The images in this calendar are full of joy, embodiment and authenticity. They are a beam of hope illuminating the night. There is a brighter future ahead of us, and we will be the ones to create it.
I am incredibly grateful to all of the models who offered their ideas, stepped in front of the camera, and trusted me to bring this project to life.
